Why Plonk.co.za?
It’s where we plonk rare or underrated bits and bobs to sell.
From wines we stumble upon or furniture pieces to plonk yourself on, to one-of-a-kind ornaments to plonk anywhere you like.
The word ‘Plonk’ actually has three meanings:
1) Cheap wine. Believed to be a playful corruption of the French word ‘blanc’ by Australian & British troops during WWI.
2) Putting something down heavily or carelessly
3) A hollow sound.

LIMITED LABEL WINES | For us, a good glass of wine is about more than what’s in the bottle. It’s about what it means to the people drinking it, who they’re drinking it with, why and where, and the stories shared over it. Our wine is pretty much all the same good stuff, but labelled with different messages to break the ice, trigger a laugh, or spark discussion.
What wine is actually in the bottle, you ask? Well, if you can taste the difference between Merlot and Shiraz, you’ll know.

As part of our commitment to responsible service, we strictly adhere to the Free State Liquor Authority’s responsible trading guidelines, ensuring that we will not sell alcohol to anyone under the age of 18, nor will we sell or deliver alcohol to anyone who appears intoxicated.
